The Joint Entrance Examination Council, Uttar Pradesh (JEECUP), has officially initiated the web-based tracking dashboard for the UP Polytechnic Online Counselling and Choice Filling 2026. Following the declaration of the state entrance rank cards on June 19, 2026, the central e-counselling engine goes fully live today, June 25, 2026.

The allocations finalized through this portal govern direct admissions into all Government, Aided, and Private Polytechnic Institutions operating within Uttar Pradesh for the 2026–27 academic term.

Counselling Blueprint Phase Structure
To maintain system speed during heavy server loads, JEECUP organizes the 2026 registration framework into structural target phases:
- Phase-I (Rounds 1 to 3): This initial phase is reserved exclusively for qualified candidates who hold a valid Uttar Pradesh state residential domicile.
- Phase-II (Rounds 4 and 5): This auxiliary phase opens the registration gates to out-of-state candidates alongside UP applicants who missed out or chose to modify their options during earlier tracking steps.
Step-by-Step Guide: How to Lock UP Polytechnic Choice Filling 2026
The counselling interface relies heavily on active candidate input. If you fail to lock choices during the specified dates, the system cannot assign you a seat. Follow this sequence to complete your submission safely:
1.Log In to the Central JEECUP Portal:Initial Entry.
Open your web browser and go straight to the official platform homepage: jeecup.admissions.nic.in. Locate and click on the live banner labeled “Counselling Link for Engineering & Other Groups”.
2.Authenticate Your Candidate Profile:Authentication.
Enter your initial JEECUP 2026 Application Number, account password, and the displayed captcha code. Complete the identity confirmation check using the security One-Time Password (OTP) sent to your registered phone number.
3.Select and Organize College Branches:Preference Assembly.
Navigate to your dashboard panel and click on “Choice Filling & Locking”. Filter the dynamic inventory list by choosing Institute Type (Government/Aided) and your desired trade stream (such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science). Click “Add” to select your targets.
4.Prioritize and Refine Order Layouts:Optimization.
Review your custom choices layout. Use the system’s alignment tools to move your highest priority government institutes directly to the top slots (Choices 1, 2, and 3). Remember, the allocation script runs strictly downward from your first choice.
5.Lock Options and Print Confirmation:Finalization.
Once you are completely satisfied with your list arrangement, select “Lock Choices”. Re-enter your login password to confirm your selection, then download and print the final choice submission summary page.
Understanding Post-Allotment Options: Freeze vs. Float
When JEECUP declares the Round 1 allotment outcomes on July 1, 2026, every selected applicant must choose one of two execution paths through their portal login:
- The “Freeze” Selection Path: If you are fully satisfied with your assigned seat and want to lock it in, choose “Freeze”. You must immediately pay the seat acceptance fee online and report to a physical District Help Center to verify your original documents.
- The “Float” Selection Path: If you want to claim your assigned seat as a fallback option but wish to participate in the next round for an upgraded seat, choose “Float”. You must pay a ₹3,000 seat acceptance-cum-counselling fee online to hold your spot while moving forward in the system.
Critical Operational Warning: If you are assigned a seat but fail to choose either the Freeze or Float option, or if you miss the online fee deposit deadline, the automated system will instantly cancel your allocation and block you from participating in all remaining counselling rounds.
