The Jai Prakash University (JPU), Chhapra, has officially announced the registration schedule for undergraduate (UG) admissions for the academic session 2026–2030. In accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) and the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), all regular undergraduate courses—including Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com)—are conducted as 4-year degree programs spread across 8 academic semesters.

For students who have cleared their Intermediate (10+2) exams and wish to enroll in JPU’s constituent or affiliated colleges across Saran, Siwan, and Gopalganj districts, the online admission portal is scheduled to open on May 22, 2026.

Course-Wise Eligibility Criteria

Admissions at Jai Prakash University are strictly merit-based. The selection lists are compiled using the scores from your Class 12th board exams; there is no separate entrance exam for regular BA, BSc, or BCom streams.

  • B.A. (Hons. / Major): Must have passed the Intermediate (10+2) examination from the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) or any other recognized central/state board with a minimum of 45% marks in the aggregate or the specific subject chosen for Major studies.
  • B.Sc. (Hons. / Major): Must have cleared the 10+2 standard in the Science stream (PCM/PCB) with an aggregate score of at least 45% marks in the relevant science group.
  • B.Com. (Hons. / Major): Must have cleared 10+2 from a recognized board with at least 45% aggregate marks. Students from a Commerce background receive standard alignment preference during merit calculation.
