Eligibility Criteria: Can You Apply?

Candidates must satisfy the following academic and age parameters as of July 1, 2026:

1. Educational Qualifications

  • For RO & ARO:
    • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university.
    • Computer Proficiency: Diploma/Degree in Computer Science OR ‘O’ Level (NIELIT/DOEACC) OR ‘CCC’ Certificate.
    • Minimum English typing speed of 25 words per minute on a computer.
  • For Computer Assistant:
    • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university.
    • Required knowledge of Data Entry, Word Processing, and Computer Operation.
    • Minimum English typing speed of 25 words per minute.

2. Age Limit (as on 01-07-2026)

  • RO / ARO: 21 to 35 Years.
  • Computer Assistant: 18 to 35 Years.
  • Relaxation: Standard age relaxation applies for SC, ST, OBC, and other reserved categories of Uttar Pradesh as per government norms (typically 5 years for SC/ST/OBC).

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

The selection involves a single-stage examination comprising two parts, conducted in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format:

  • Part I: Multiple Choice Objective Test (200 Marks)
    • Subjects: General Science, History of India, Indian National Movement, Polity, Economy & Culture, Agriculture, Population, Ecology, World & Indian Geography, Current Affairs, General Intelligence, and UP Special Knowledge.
    • Duration: 3 Hours.
    • Negative Marking: There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
  • Part II: Computer Knowledge Test (50 Marks)
    • Candidates will be provided a text passage of approximately 500 words to be typed on a computer.
    • Duration: 20 Minutes.
    • Minimum Qualifying: Candidates must score at least 25 marks (50%) in this section.
