The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the notification for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) September 2026 session. This national-level exam is a mandatory qualification for those aspiring to teach in Central Government schools like KVs and NVs.

Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the CTET 2026 session, candidates must meet specific educational requirements:
- For Paper I (Primary Stage: Classes 1–5): Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or a 4-year B.El.Ed.
- For Paper II (Elementary Stage: Classes 6–8): Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in a 2-year D.El.Ed or a 1-year/2-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
- Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for CTET. However, the minimum age is generally 17–18 years.
Exam Pattern and Syllabus
The CTET is an offline (OMR-based) examination consisting of two papers. Each paper has 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) for 150 marks, with a duration of 2.5 hours. There is no negative marking.

Step-by-Step Guide to Apply Online
- Visit the Official Portal: Go to CTET website.
- New Registration: Click on “Apply for CTET Sept 2026” and register using your mobile number and email ID.
- Fill the Application: Enter your personal details, academic qualifications, and choose your preferred exam papers.
- Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of your Photograph (10–100 KB) and Signature (3–30 KB) in JPG/JPEG format.
- Pay the Fee: Complete the transaction using Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card, or UPI.
- Download Confirmation: Once the payment is successful, download and print the Confirmation Page for future reference.
