How to Check Your RRB JE CBT-I Result
The result has been released in two formats: a Merit List PDF (containing roll numbers of shortlisted candidates) and an individual Scorecard.
Step 1: Download the Merit List (PDF)
- Visit the official website of the RRB region you applied to (e.g., RRB Chandigarh, RRB Mumbai, RRB Kolkata).
- Click on the link titled: “Result of CBT-I and Shortlisting of candidates for CBT-II for CEN 05/2025.”
- Open the PDF and use Ctrl+F to search for your Roll Number. If your number appears, you have qualified for the next stage.
Step 2: Access Your Individual Scorecard
- On the regional homepage, click on the “Score Card Link for CBT-I”.
- Log in using your Registration Number and Date of Birth (User Password).
- Your dashboard will display your raw marks, normalized marks, and your “Yes/No” status for CBT-II.
Normalization and Cut-Off Marks
Because the RRB JE exam was conducted in multiple shifts, the board utilizes a Normalization Formula to ensure fairness, accounting for variations in the difficulty level of different paper sets.
The Cut-Off Marks for 2026 have also been released alongside the results. These vary significantly by zone and category (UR, OBC, SC, ST, EWS). Candidates are advised to download the separate Cut-Off PDF available on their regional portal to see the minimum qualifying threshold for their specific trade and category.
What’s Next? Preparing for CBT-II
Qualifying CBT-I is only the first step. The marks obtained in CBT-I are used solely for shortlisting and will not be added to the final merit list. The real battle begins with CBT-II, which focuses heavily on technical abilities.
- Total Questions: 150 (100 Technical + 50 General Awareness/Physics/Chemistry/Basics of Computers).
- Duration: 120 Minutes.
- Weightage: The final selection is based primarily on your performance in CBT-II.
Important Note: Shortlisted candidates should begin their branch-specific technical revision immediately, as the RRB is expected to announce the CBT-II exam schedule within the next few weeks.
