The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially declared the SSC CGL Final Result 2026 today, May 14–15, 2026. This marks the culmination of the 2025–26 recruitment cycle, which began with the Tier 1 exam in late 2025 and the Tier 2 exam in January 2026.
With a total of 15,118 candidates provisionally shortlisted for various Group B and Group C posts, the final merit list is now available on the official portal. This result is the final step for candidates to secure prestigious roles such as Assistant Section Officer, Income Tax Inspector, and Central Excise Inspector.

How to Download SSC CGL Final Result 2026 PDF
The results are published in the form of post-wise merit lists. Candidates can check their selection status by following these steps:
- Visit the Official Portal: Go to ssc.gov.in.
- Access the Result Tab: Click on the “Results” section located at the top right of the homepage.
- Select CGL Section: Choose the “CGL” category from the list of examinations.
- Download PDF: Look for the link titled “Combined Graduate Level Examination (Tier-II) 2025: Final Result – List of Candidates in Roll Number Order provisionally shortlisted.”
- List 1: For JSO and Statistical Investigator Gr. II posts.
- List 2: For all other posts (Income Tax, Excise, ASO, etc.).
- Search Your Name: Open the PDF and use Ctrl + F to enter your Roll Number or Name. If highlighted, you have been selected.
Understanding the Final Merit List & Cut-Off
The 2026 final result was prepared following the Sliding and Identity Verification (IV) process conducted between April 13 and April 22, 2026. This system ensured that candidates who did not join or were ineligible were replaced by waitlisted candidates, making the allocation fair and efficient.
- Final Cut-Offs: The category-wise cut-off marks for Paper I (Section I & II) have been released alongside the merit list.
- Computer & DEST: Candidates were evaluated on their Computer Knowledge and Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) as per the qualifying standards set for their specific posts.
- Withheld Results: A small list (List 3) containing 106 candidates has been withheld due to various technical or administrative reasons.

Selection in the final result is provisional, pending the final verification by the respective User Departments.
- Allocation of Departments: Candidates will soon receive individual communications regarding their department allocation and posting.
- Document Verification (User Dept): While preliminary DV was conducted by the SSC, the final joining process will involve a medical examination and document check by the specific ministry or department you are allotted to.
